Having spent most of my career in the high-octane corporate world, I experienced the destructive impact of unmitigated stress. I became passionate about the art and science of resilience as a result of a personal health crisis that led me to examine my own life and take deliberate steps to restoring my well being.
I bring Resilience training to individuals, groups, and corporate teams interested in learning practical tools for resilient living that support their goals and ultimate well-being.
My professional background includes corporate training, public speaking, and leadership.

The Resilience Advantage Program
Resilience is our threshold for adversity. After resilience training, people often report an improved quality of life and a decrease in depression and anxiety following emotional events. They experience many of the following benefits as well:
- Reducing negative emotions faster following a stressful event.
- Better management of chronic conditions.
- A decrease in negative thought patterns.
- An increase in quality of life.
- Feeling more “purpose” in life.
Resilience is our ability to adapt and move past major stresses and trauma. Unlike an attribute like strength, the benefits of resilience are seen over long periods of time. It helps you maintain a positive quality of life after negative events, which in turn helps you avoid illnesses and the long-term damage caused by stress. High resilience also allows you to feel more in control of your life and more able to affect an outcome.
Resilience Factors
There are a number of factors that contribute to resilience, and it is these skills that resilience training seeks to teach and encourages you to develop:
- High self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to successfully manage emotions and impulses.
- The ability to accept unwanted change.
- The ability to take positive steps to carry out plans.

“The Heart Math Resilience Training with Lori Roa was an incredibly beneficial program for myself, our team, and our Jeter’s Leaders to participate in. I think we are all aware about the seemingly countless stresses that distort our lives and affect our thinking. It can be difficult to know how to separate ourselves from those hardships. The Heart Math Resilience Training offers science based, digestible lessons that help to understand the role of stress in our lives. This, combined with easy to implement practices that instantly create a headspace where you can manage your stress and your mood in a more productive way made the program very beneficial. Doing this training with my staff and our high school leadership program participants really provided a space for us to understand each other in a more empathetic and personal way, while maintaining a positive and progressive tone. Virtually, Lori created a calm and positive environment for us to be open to learning, honest about the role of stress in our lives, and confident in moving forward with a new mindset and coping skills to lead more resilient lives. I would highly recommend the Heart Math Resilience Training to any person or group interested in exploring a more resilient life.”
